Wobbly Wallaby

Wobbly Wallaby

Wobbly Wallaby was oh so wobbly. He wanted to walk. Can you walk?

“I hope so, probably.”

Let’s walk to the kitchen to get a snack, it isn’t far, there and back.

It needs to be yummy and healthy too, once we get there, it’s up to you.

One step, two step, still oh so wobbly. Do you think you can make it?

“I hope so, probably.”

“How about a carrot?” No! That’s on the top shelf. If you reach that high, I’ll worry myself. “I want to

share it, I need to dare it. I am going to get us that tasty carrot.”

There’s the fridge, pull it open! Swing!

I don’t see a carrot, where is that thing?

Look higher, stretch up onto your tip toes, reach your hands high,

stick out your nose!

“I see it! I see it! It’s higher than I thought.”

“It’s on the highest shelf, on the highest spot.”

Please don’t even try it, I cannot bear it.

We can find a better snack, just give up on the carrot.

“No way!” said Wallaby, “We have come this far, I will not settle for a snack in a jar.”

“The carrot is ours to enjoy and to crunch,

Just a bit higher so we can munch, munch, munch!”

All of a sudden, with a pump and a thump,

Wobbly Wallaby sprang with a jump!

He grabbed the carrot, it was oh so plump!

Wallaby wobbled and fell down with a bump.

“I knew I could do it, here taste our snack!”

“I walked to the kitchen, jumped, bumped, and came back!”

Nice work, Wallaby! A carrot for two!

When we go back tomorrow I know what to do.

Tomorrow our snack should be another veggie.

Crunchy, munchy, enough for you and me. Do you think we can find one?

“I hope so, probably.”
