Quotes of the Week from Others:
“If you shed tears when you miss the sun, you also miss the stars.” – Rabindranath Tagore
“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.” – Calvin Coolidge
“The quieter you become, the more you can hear.” – Rumi
Quick Optimism:
In a couple of years, it won’t matter how long it took. You’ll either be glad you did it, or glad it’s over.
Question of the Week:
Why is there toothpaste in the backyard?
This past week my wife and I raced down the stairs, threw some bags in the car, the kids into their sits, and drove to the grocery store. It’s best to get there right after it opens. No lines, no traffic jams.
We had timed it perfectly. Like a well-oiled machine we grabbed the freshest food, scanned our items, paid, and loaded the car back up to head home.
The kids were happy, munching on some post-breakfast snacks and we made it back into the house in one trip despite having several fully-loaded grocery bags to carry up the stairs.
The fridge items were put away first, then we filled the pantry. Chips, cans, cereal, and more. We were done in record time, and with no spills.
Errands done, time to play. We opened the door, walked down the steps, and there we found toothpaste in the backyard.
Somewhere along the way, a wrench will get thrown in your plans. Things will be out of place and it won’t make sense. And that’s okay.
