The Weekly Optimist Newsletter: One Life
Quotes from Me:
“Don’t leave anything for later, for later life goes by.”
“Too many people mistake surviving for living.”
“The challenge will always be the escape.”
Quotes from Others:
“The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance; the wise grows it under his feet.” – James Oppenheim
“This hard place in which you, perhaps, find yourself, is the very place in which God is giving your opportunity to look only to Him.” -Elisabeth Elliot
“People who say it cannot be done, should not interrupt those who are doing it.” – George Bernard Shaw
Quick Optimism:
This is your one attempt at life, no second chances.
Question:
Do you make assumptions?
Use caution when reading between the lines. Most often, while communicating, our guesses are ill advised and missing important context from the start.
The motives of others, even those closest to us, are rarely known. Optimism is not the assumption that the motives of others are the best or with the best intentions, but accepting the possibility of multiple interpretations and outcomes.
Keep your close relationships good through an open mind. Don’t treat your guesses as facts.
