The Weekly Optimist Newsletter: Live Where You Love
Quotes of the Week from Me:
“Today’s the day you do better.”
“Never lose today’s potential in anticipation of tomorrow.”
“You need to demonstrate how much you want it. Don’t just say it, demonstrate.”
Quotes of the Week from Others:
“Make the best use of what is in you power, and take the rest as it happens.” – Epictetus
“To live outside the law, you must be honest.” – Bob Dylan
“Don’t you ever get the feeling that all your life is going by and you’re not taking advantage of it? Do you realize you’ve lived nearly half the time you have to live already?” – Ernest Hemingway
Quick Optimism:
Go get some sunshine.
Questions of the Week:
I got a tip from an established writer to try out a few weeks with a shorter question of the week section. “See how much value you can bring in as few as 10 sentences or less,” he said. It sounded like a fun challenge, and he also thought it would create a more proportional flow from one section to the next. Let’s try it out.
Hope you are having a great start to your week!
Have you ever been somewhere and seen something that takes your breath away? Would you live there?
I do.
My travel itch has returned this week as friends and family keep sending me exciting updates from weddings, vacations, and other reasons for globe-trotting. My cousin-in-law (is that a thing?) got married in Greece, my college roommate was in a different part of Greece, and my best friend just got back from Scotland.
Something I always notice and appreciate is how familiar these places look even though I have never been to them. “That looks like… in Vermont.” I love being surrounded by the lake, the mountains, and everything in between. Do you love where you live? I think it should take your breath away.
Live where you love this Monday.
