The Weekly Optimist Newsletter: Learning
Quotes of the Week from Me:
“Embrace constructive criticism. It is one way of contributing to your future success.”
“We made it another week. I made it another week. You made it another week. Try to make it to another week.”
“You will never learn, or master, every skill. Surround yourself with the best people you can find.”
I’ve heard people say, “Surround yourself with the right people.” I don’t think that is the best phrasing. What is the right person? Find the best ones, sometimes they will be right, sometimes wrong, but hopefully mostly honest.
Quotes of the Week from Others:
“Working out will make you feel weak when it’s making you stronger. Learning new things will make you feel dumb when it’s making you smarter. Investing in yourself will make you feel broke when it’s making you rich. Facing your fears makes you feel scared when it’s making you braver.” – Unknown
“The only way to predict the future is to create it.” – Abraham Lincoln
“Never discourage anyone who continually makes progress, no matter how slow.” – Plato
Quick Optimism:
There is no better time than 5am.
Question of the Week:
What have you learned this week?
Some people care. Some don’t. Challenging yourself is important. But so is relaxation. Fight for what you believe in. Fight against what you don’t.
Learn along the way.
Few make it happen, but those who are able to align themselves with the waves of contradiction in their lives, benefit the most from their commitment to each option as they come and go.
